Locally owned Mortimer Family Farms hosts its Sweet Corn Festival Saturday and Sunday in Dewey-Humboldt.

The "everything corn" event will feature just-picked fresh corn, roasted corn, corn bath, and more. Enjoy a hay ride to the corn field and pick your own corn, or test your skills with corn eatingcorn shucking, and corn toss competitions with prizes.

The Mile High Tractor Club will display tractors and compete for "Top Pull" of a weighted sled.

Join Farmer Buzz on a hayride tour of the farm with lots of stories and history about the area.

Bubble run, bounce play land, euro bungee, carriage rides, pony rides, barrel train, face painting, "corny" food and more round out the activities.

Learn about the history of Dewey-Humboldt with the Historical Society, and watch a real blacksmith create works of art in iron. Music and entertainment will be run throughout the festival.

Go Adventure Recreation will be onsite Saturday with a 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk beginning at 7 a.m. Get all the information and sign up today at go-ar.com.

From 6-9:30 p.m. Saturday enjoy the Farm Dinner and Dance with live music by Tequila Highway. Dinner and dance cost is $12.

Visit the Farm Country Store, open daily featuring "My Grandma's Kitchen" where shoppers can find fresh country baked pies, cookies, breads and homemade fudge.

The vegetables have arrived. The store is loaded with sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, peppers and other summer vegetables grown on the farm. Open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The farm is located at the corner of Highway 69 and 169 in Dewey-Humboldt.
