Student artists depict selves before, after breakfast
This past spring, students in the Humboldt Unified School District entered a drawing contest to portray what they feel like before and after eating a healthy school breakfast. The HUSD Food and Nutrition department selected 10 winners from each K-8 grade level and presented each with a certificate of achievement at the April 28 HUSD governing board meeting.

Students receive scholarships from endowment
Ten Yavapai County students pursuing education degrees each received a $1,500 scholarship from the Education Scholarship Endowment of Yavapai County.

Students received the scholarships at the 10th annual awards luncheon. They were made possible by Gladys Gardner, a prominent Prescott resident who founded the endowment.

Bradshaw Mountain Middle School students are one step closer to discovering what could lead to a lifetime career.

About 25 presenters set up tables and equipment, both indoors and outside, at the campus on May 4, where students rotated through, asking questions, and filling out information sheets.

GHMS students use 'ImagiNation' to win awards
Two Destination ImagiNation teams from Glassford Hill Middle School earned first place in their categories with an invitation to attend the Global Destination ImagiNation Expo in Knoxville, Tenn., next month.

The DI program teaches kindergarten through high school students creativity, teamwork, and problem solving - three skills needed for success in the 21st Century.

Glassford students learn about marine biology in trip to Catalina Island
Glassford Hill Middle School sent 37 eighth-grade students to Catalina Island to study marine biology at the Catalina Island Marine Institute.

Students learned about a variety of ecosystems to better understand endangered species and how humans impact the environment.
