Youth Arts Month kicked off March 6 at the Prescott Valley Civic Center with an art opening to celebrate young artists in all Prescott Valley schools.

In addition to students and parents, a string quartet from Bradshaw Mountain High School entertained the crowd and culinary students provided refreshments. First through third place winners and honorable mention artists received certificates from Arts and Culture Commission Chair Suzanne Duskey.

The students' artwork will remain on display until the end of the month. The Family Arts Festival takes place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, following the Town's Eggstravaganza event with egg hunts for different aged children.
