Community blood drive is Friday

The Prescott Valley School Youth Chamber Club is sponsoring a Red Cross Community Blood Drive on Friday, May 16. The drive runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the PVS campus, 9500 Lorna Lane, off Mendecino, in Prescott Valley. All community residents, 16 and older, are invited.

Each blood donation saves up to three lives. Go to redcrossblood.org, enter "PVSCharterSchool" (one word), and register. Or call 772-8744 to register, for more information, or for directions.

Square Dance classes in Prescott Valley

Learn to square dance! Classes begin once four couples or more sign up! Caller Ken Jeffries will lead the square dancing program Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Civic Center Activity Room, located on the 3rd floor.

Lockheed offers 2 scholarships for local seniors

The Lockheed Martin Leadership Association located in Prescott Valley is offering two scholarships to local high school seniors. Each scholarship winner will receive $750 paid directly to the college or university.

Lonesome Valley auditions under way

Lonesome Valley Playhouse is auditioning for two roles in its next play, "The Education of Angels."

The director will be auditioning males aged 40 to 50 by phone and will fill the two roles immediately.

Mountain Valley Splash opens on May 24

Mountain Valley Splash Aquatic Center's gates open on Saturday, May 24, of the Memorial Day weekend and remain open through Sunday, Aug. 3. Mountain Valley Splash is located at 8600 E. Nace Lane on the south side of Mountain Valley Park.

Aquatic features include the 75-foot spiral water slide, zero-depth entry pool with a mushroom fountain kiddie area that cascades water from above, a corporate picnic area, multiple shade structures, a concession stand, and up to six lanes, 25-yard length, lap swimming. 

ENTRY FEES: Children (5 & under) 75¢;

Youth (6 - 17)  $1.75;

Adult (18 - 54) $2.75;

Senior (55+)  $2.00;

Family Day Pass

(up to 5 members)  $9.50.

SEASON POOL PASSES: Best buy for the frequent visitor; can be used Memorial Day to Labor Day.
