YHS extends Howl-o-ween adoptions

The Yavapai Humane Society adopted out 56 animals during its Howl-o-ween adoption special from Oc. 23 - 27; however, during the same period, 40 strays came into the shelter.

Due to the success of the event and the amount of animals they had come in over the weekend, YHS will be extending the $10 Howl-o-ween adoption special through this Sunday, Nov. 3rd. The $10 adoption fee will apply to all the animals, including purebreds, mix breeds, puppies, and kittens.

"We want to thank the community for their response to our Howl-o-ween adoption special this past week," said YHS Executive Director Ed Boks. "It was so successful that we hope to see the same results this week. You really could not find a better time to adopt than during our Howl-o-ween adoption special."

YHS encourages families to come out and spend some time with an animal and see if it's the right match. Our adoption specialists will be on hand to help you find the perfect pet to bring into your home.

Each animal at YHS is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and examined by a veterinarian before adoption. All adopters must still adhere to YHS' adoption guidelines and application. Normally adoption fees range from $35 to $120 depending on the age and type of the animal.

Dogs and cats are available for viewing at www.yavapaihumane.org/adopt. For more information on the Howl-o-ween event, call 928-445-2666. YHS is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from 11a.m.- 3 p.m. and is closed to the public on Tuesdays.

If you would like to look for a lost pet, you may visit the Yavapai Humane Society's Lost and Found at 1625 Sundog Ranch Rd. in Prescott during YHS business hours.
