Four free October workshops for parents through HUSD

Humboldt Unified School District, in collaboration with Ann Sult and MATForce, will present four free workshops for parents in October.

On Thursday, Oct. 17, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wendy Watson will speak on No More Tantrums. Parents of young children will learn strategies that will help avoid children's tantrums. The workshop takes place at Bright Futures Preschool, Room 404, behind the district offices at 6411 N. Robert Road. Childcare will be provided.

The second annual Stomp Out Bullying Rally takes place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the gymnasium on the east campus/district office, at 6411 N. Robert Road. The event is for the entire family, and includes fun activities and information.

Learn ways to help children cope with grief, loss, separation and traumatic events often seen on the news. Cynthia Loucks will lead an interactive discussion on When Sad Things Happen from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, in the Glassford Hill Middle School Library, 6901 Panther Path, Prescott Valley. Childcare and refreshments provided.

Pam Luizzo offers a no fuss, no fight approach to feeding hard-to-please children healthy meals from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Family Resource Center, Room 422, on the east campus/district office, Rm. 422, 6411 N. Robert Road.

Picky Eaters will provide an emphasis on distinct roles for parents and children.
