All of the opera's 29 actors, from throughout the Quad Cities, must be age 19 and under, with the youngest about 8.
The show is based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel and follows the lives of several characters in France from 1815-1832, focusing on love and redemption.
Director/producer is Clyde Neville, with asst. dir. Tamee Niekamp. Musical director is Shana Burton, asst. musical dir. is Alexes Niekamp, and accompanist is Jackson Raush. Costumes by Ann Marie Hardesty.
Performances are at 7 p.m. on Sept. 13, 14, 20 and 21, and at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 14, 15 and 21, at Franklin Phonetic School, 6116 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley. Tickets at the door are: $15/adult; $12/senior; $10/student; teachers admitted free.
