The Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce's 17th Annual Team Up to Clean Up & Recycle takes place Saturday, May 4. Volunteers can come to the Command Center - the Chamber parking lot at 7120 Pav Way (Kooiman Business Center) - at 9 a.m. for a free T-shirt, trash bags provided by APS, and clean-up assignment. Then go out and pick up trash, and return to the Command Center between 11:30 a.m. for a free hot dog lunch that Central Yavapai Fire firefighters have cooked.

For more information, call the Chamber at 928-772-8857.

In conjunction with the event, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., the Town of Prescott Valley will conduct its reduced fee dump program at a site east on Valley Road near the Town's Wastewater Treatment Plant. Be prepared to show proof of residency and bring cash for fees.

Accepted items include yard clippings, furniture and other residential items. Recycle: old appliances, plastics No. 1&2, aluminum, newspapers, tires (10 max) auto batteries.

Non-accepted items include: free liquids (oil, antifreeze, paint, etc.), medical waste, explosives, ammunitions, and hazardous items.

Fees schedule is: $2/car, small van or SUV; $5/pickup truck; $10/vehicle with trailer; $1/unmounted DOT tire; $3/mounted DOT tire; $5/off-road heavy truck tire; $25/freon appliance.

The Early Bird Lions Club is sponsoring a pick-up of unwanted items from the first 25 callers who are physically unable to deliver the items to the dumpsite themselves.

Requests must be made a week in advance. To arrange pick-up, or for more information on the dump day, call the Town's Public Works Dept. at 928-759-3070.
