Volunteers are needed now at HUSD school sites
HUSD number of volunteer hours per school for 2011-2012
• Bradshaw Mountain High School - 190 hours

• Bradshaw Mtn. Middle School - 630 hours

• Glassford Hill Middle School - 883 hours

• Liberty Traditional School - 1,672 hours

• Granville Elementary School - 4,463 hours

• Coyote Springs Elementary - 4,132 hours

• Humboldt Elementary School - 1,370 hours

• Lake Valley Elementary School - 1,148 hours

• Mountain View Elementary - 1,630 hours

• Bright Futures Pre-School - 146 hours

• Family Resource Center - 180 hours

• District Office - 135 hours

Any number of days or hours you can give are appreciated.

• Bradshaw Mountain High School: Library assistant needed immediately during school day hours to work in the library helping to shelve and check out books, and assist students. School hours are 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., except Wednesday, which are 7:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

• Coyote Springs Elementary School: Volunteer tutors needed to work with children on math and reading skills during the Before School and/or After School program. Hours are Monday-Friday 8-9 a.m. and 3-4 p.m.

• Lake Valley Elementary School: Volunteer tutors needed to work with children on math and reading skills during the After School program on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 3-4 p.m.

• Middle School Tutors Needed: Volunteers are needed to help facilitate in-school tutoring through the AVID program at Glassford Hill on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:35 a.m. and 8:38-9:43 a.m.; and Bradshaw Mountain Middle School from 7:30-8:35 a.m. Flexible hours available for tutoring in reading, math and science, with hours and days arranged with the student and parent/guardian. Most assignments occur after school between 3-6 p.m. Tutoring sessions can take place at the PV Library or other mutually agreeable location. After School Tutoring at all three middle schools is available: GHMS on Monday and Tuesday from 2:15-4 p.m.; BMMS and Liberty Traditional School on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15-4 p.m.

• Family Resource Center: Volunteers needed to help sort, fold and label donated children's clothing. Hours and days can be flexible.

• Lake Valley Elementary School: Volunteer needed in the school office to help with copying and other office tasks. Hours and days can be flexible.

• Bright Futures Pre-School: Classroom volunteers needed to work one-on-one or in small groups with pre-school children, reading and playing games, Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteer days and hours can be flexible.

• Volunteer Bus Monitors: Help drivers monitor and direct student behaviors to assure their safety and the safety of others. The monitor will serve as a role model and help direct the youth in positive conversations and appropriate behaviors, Monday-Friday between 1-4 p.m. (earlier hours on Wednesdays). All buses leave from the Transportation building at 6411 Robert Road. Volunteers must complete the entire route on their volunteer shift.

• Bradshaw Mountain Middle School: Volunteers to present to students their careers/professions - particularly in health, science and technology fields. This is a short-term assignment; days and hours are flexible.

• District Office: Make telephone calls for applicant reference checks. Days and hours are flexible.
