A Prescott Valley hot spot for those who enjoy a little pampering commemorates 10 years at the location on Great Western Way. Elite Reflections Salon and Day Spa will host a celebration next month.

In the meantime, owner Valerie Reid-Little has another celebratory mile marker - 50 years cutting and styling hair.

Reid-Little worked as a stylist in Prescott for many years before taking the leap and purchasing the salon.

"I had worked in Prescott for 33 years," she explained and when her stepdaughter mentioned that she found a little Victorian shop for sale, Reid-Little quickly made the decision to own a business and move her scissors to another location. The clients followed.

"Prescott Valley has been such a warm, giving community. I'm very impressed," she said.

Reid-Little entered beauty school in 1965 after moving to the Prescott area from Pennsylvania.

The avid sun worshipper looks years younger than the age stamped on her driver's license and attributes her youthful beauty to loving what she does every day.

"I love my job, I love people," she said.

Elite Reflections offers consultations and Reid-Little explained that clients may stop in with their ideas and the friendly staff will help guide them towards a polished style.

The salon also features a tearoom for patrons partaking of various all-day spa treatments.

What sets the salon apart, however, may be the special events such as bridal and baby shower parties. The staff caters to just about any celebration to include little girl birthday parties whereby staff will offer manicures and pedicures for the occasion.

"Everything in here is for sale," Reid-Little said as she pointed to the framed artwork on the walls, hand-made crosses and quilted treasures.

The salon offers an array of treatments and services including hair color, haircuts and styles, massage, manicures and pedicures, acrylic and gel nails, make up services, facials, waxing and relaxing spa packages. For example, the Stress Terminator is a service that features a one-hour facial, pedicure, paraffin dip and catered, tea room lunch.

The salon also carries products from many popular lines including Paul Mitchell, Joico, Aquage, TIGI Catwalk, OSiS, Kenra and OPI.

Elite Reflections Salon and Day Spa is located at 2485 Great Western Way, Suite C in Prescott Valley. For more information and to schedule an appointment, call (928) 775-9590.
