Mortimer Family Farms begins its Sweet Corn Festival from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23-24 with a $10 ticket price. The Festival features games, farm activities for all ages, and a barn dance. Sundays' activities run from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Youngsters will enjoy pig races, farm animal petting zoo, buckaroo pony corner, farm slide, corn bath, straw maze, barrel train, and the bounce playhouse farmland. Teen guests won't want to miss the bubble run, laser tag, roping dummies, obstacle course, water rides, and lawn mower races.

The Mile High Tractor Club will display antique tractors and compete for Top Pull on Saturday to see which operator and tractor can pull the weighted sled the farthest. Farmer Buzz offers a hayride tour of the farm with lots of stories and history, and take you to the fields to pick your own sweet corn right off the stalk. The Dewey-Humboldt Historical Society will have a booth, and a blacksmith will be set up and operating.

The farm dance takes place on Saturdays from 4-7 p.m. in the barn. The dance is for all ages to enjoy.
