Sprouts Farmers Market opens in Prescott Valley at 7 a.m., June 4, with a ribbon cutting celebration for the much-anticipated 27,000 square-foot natural food retailer.

"What's great about this particular store is that it will include the newer amenities that Sprouts has to offer," said spokesperson Donna Egan.

Those new features will include an expanded Boar's Head meats and cheeses deli, made-to-order sandwiches, hand-rolled sushi, and a soup bar with daily specials.

The store also will feature an olive bar, a dairy case full of organic and regular products, aisles of natural remedies and plenty of herbal supplements.

"We're excited about moving to the Prescott area. We know there is a lot of pent-up enthusiasm for Sprouts," Egan said.

Prescott Valley Sprouts Store Manager Wade Williamson started in the grocery business at age 16, cultivating his love of food. One of his favorite pastimes is whipping up a meal for family and friends. Williamson said he starts every meal with fresh, seasonal produce and custom-cut meat from Sprouts butchers.

"I've been with Sprouts Farmers Market for seven years. I'm beyond excited about my new position at Sprouts and to be joining such a great Prescott team," Williamson said.

If he looks a little tired, it might be because of the hard work he's put into opening the new store.

"I really hope to create a relationship with the members of the community I know people here are ready to shop! More than anything else, I want our customers to know that the team is knowledgeable about the products and here to help," Williamson said.

He and his wife plan to stay in the Prescott area through retirement and host their two grown children and five grandchildren for plenty of family vacations.

The grand opening celebration will include special deals and give-a-ways such as:

• Muffin and coffee samples served to everyone in line before the doors open

• The first 200 shoppers in line receive 20 percent off their initial purchase

• At checkout, every 15th shopper receives a Sprouts coupon book

• Dollar deals will feature throughout the store

• Every customer receives a reusable bag with purchase

The Prescott Valley Sprouts marks the chain's 174th store. The first market opened in Chandler in 2002.

The Sprouts Farmers Market is located at 5645 E. State Route 69.
