This is a call to the community: what do you want to see in your hometown newspaper?
We always have tried to provide a wide variety with a good mix of hard news, people features, schools, major events, activities, business, sports, and anything else we can think of and/or about which people tell us. With a small staff, we really rely on people telling us stuff - and a week or two in advance is good. (I say that with a smile.)
But we now ask community groups - civic and non-profit organizations, churches, businesses and more - to deluge us with information about what you've got going on and honors you've achieved. We don't guarantee every photo and article will make it into print, but we also love to post items online for the world to see.
And did you know the Prescott Valley Tribune publishes pictures of your milestones at no charge (excluding obituaries)? Yes, it's absolutely free, gratis, zip, nil, nada, a big goose egg to run your engagement, wedding, major anniversary, military achievement, birth, and college graduation photos.
Many other newspapers charge large sums to run these, whether in regular or special editions. We do not. Feel free to email them (that's easiest if you have a computer) or drop by the office for photos to be scanned. If we have a color page, we'll run them in color whenever possible.
Let the flood begin!
