Editorial: Give what you can, with what you have
Stories of a veteran living in a rusting shell of a car, a mom walking her children miles and miles to reach a shelter, two small boys found homeless and wandering ... Sounds like a heart-touching national television commercial created to get your attention, huh?

Only, that veteran? He's from Prescott. The mom? She was found in Prescott, too. The two small boys? Left on their own in Prescott Valley. Heart-touching, indeed. Heart-wrenching is closer to the truth.

Letter: Homosexuality and marriage
EDITOR:

I must respond to some of the recent letters to the editor.

Letter: Marijuana & booze

EDITOR:

Reading the June 1 "Marijuana Dangers" letter reawakened my frustration with the virtual denigration of smoking and the incessant demonizing of marijuana by the government agencies, while glaringly ignoring the indisputably dangerous effects of alcohol consumption.
