Letter: Let nothing keep us from stopping ISIS

Okay, I've had it. Forget being a peace lover. ISIS is a blight on world society and needs to be stopped. NOW! I call on the President of the United States to act like the leader of a superpower and to respond with force on behalf of the American citizens who can no longer tolerate the thousands of men, women and children who have been butchered in Iraq, Syria and other areas of the Middle East by the terrorist organization known as ISIS.

The president needs to immediately form a coalition of the U.S., NATO and other nations to immediately initiate aggressive military actions against the ISIS army. If it is necessary to act alone then the U.S. should do so. Bottom line: Stop the slaughter of innocents.

The US and coalition forces should have simple rules of engagement to destroy ISIS and do it now. There should be no demands that our forces be restrained from raining hell and damnation on the butchers of ISIS, and all its leaders and combatants should be captured or killed.

While Obama dithers around and waits for some sort of an easy resolution in Iraq, people are dying. That needs to stop, and there is no one more capable of making that happen than the U.S. military.

I call on my friends, the media and the elected officials of the U.S. government to pressure the president to take immediate action and for Congress to support him with funding for the manpower and equipment needed.

Warren Zimmer
