4/2/2014 10:41:00 AM Letter: Abortion is murder of the unborn
This letter is in response to an article by Joe Gandelman in the March 26 edition of the Prescott Valley Tribune. I don't totally agree with the left OR the right on many things, but I do appreciate conservative groups that are realistically trying to find serious answers to the serious problems we are facing as Americans.
It's pretty hypocritical for Gandelman to quote Nelson Mandela when he said, "There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way it treats its children," in reference to school lunches. Americans are barbaric because we are murdering our own unborn children through abortion, not because we don't support the expansion of school lunch.

Not on the inside.
"There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way it treats its children," was NOT Mandela but instead Mother Theresa who said that. Otherwise everything else you said is 100% correct. The left are on a constant mission to eradicate future generations. The only upside to that is they are in fact killing their own voter base!
@ Pagan Lady, How horrifying those experiences must have been both for you and also your mother. Abstinence would have prevented the unwanted pregnancies and cost nothing. MURDER is never right...No matter what the circumstances are.

With the reactionary arm of the Repubs trying to ban RU486 by calling it an abortion pill, the definition of abortion has now come back full circle to that Catholic definition that birth control pills are abortion. During one debate years ago, Presidential Candidate Ron Paul even admitted that some morning after pills contain the same ingredients as birth control pills-only in much higher doses. I am old enough to remember when condoms were illegal in some places. I am old enough to remember my own mother repeatedly throwing herself down the basement stairs to induce a miscarriage. Four broken ribs and one bruised liver later, she was successful. As a feminist and a republican-I consider the abortion controversy nearly over. When access to the morning after pill improves, the days of abortion clinics will end. Women, married or not, whose main forms of birth control fail, should never be denied the option of chemically ending an accidental pregnancy. My copy of the physician's desk reference says NO birth control method is 100 %. While this is an election issue, Repubs will keep losing. And Dems will keep turning us into a welfare state. While Americans are divided by this and other controversies, the criminals in the Congress win. Unite to fight back.
