11/28/2012 12:43:00 PM Letter: Political ads, calls had opposite effect
An open letter to all of the candidates - winners and losers: before I retired I spent four years in Washington D.C. as a lobbyist/advocate for several Arizona Non-Profit Health Agencies so I am well aware of the political process. I just wanted you to know that I did not vote for any of you for two reasons.
1. Instead of telling us what you believed in and what your goals were, you overburdened the airways with negative ads about your opposition. Perhaps if you had been saying something constructive I would not have used the mute button so much.
2. You wasted our cell phone time and personal time with incessant robo-calls, even on the afternoon of Election Day. I guess there is actually a third reason, I live in another part of Arizona far from your district and have a phone number that is not assigned to your region. Yet you constantly bombarded me with phone calls! Perhaps your opposition will do a better job of honest communication during the next election. However, I did vote for those running in my district and they didn't have to resort to constant smear campaigns!
