4/30/2014 8:24:00 AM Letter: AARP Tax-Aide thanks volunteers
The Coordinators of the AARP Tax-Aide Program want to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated volunteers of the AARP Tax-Aide Program for another productive season.
The volunteers assisted over 6,500 residents ranging from age 3 to 104 with preparing and e-filing their federal and state returns. Their efforts provided an economic impact of over $5,800,000 to the tri-cities this season.
Our volunteers and clients would like to thank the management of the Mountain View Manor, Gateway Mall, Prescott Valley Library and the Chino Valley Senior Center for their generous donation of space and utilities. They also thank Cableone for donating the telephone and internets services.
The coordinators would also like to thank Arizona Tile for donating tile and product, Ace Hardware for donating paint and caulk, Tax-Aide volunteers for donating labor and personal funds, Lowe's, Sherwin Williams and Home Depot for discounting items, and friends for donating labor for the renovation of the new site located next to Sear's at the Gateway Mall.
We used to think we were the best kept secret in town but are pleased to know that the secret is out. For those of you who don't know the secret, here goes:
The Tax-Aide Program is a free preparation and e-file program for low-moderate income individuals and there is no requirement that you be an AARP member. This program is staffed by IRS certified volunteer tax counselors trained by AARP tax specialists.
The program is offered annually from mid- Januar-April 15 at the three sites and provides assistance after the filing season by appointment at the Gateway site.
To schedule an appointment, ask a tax question, or ask questions about the program, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 928-717-9444.
