Bradshaw Mtn. boys 60

Cottonwood Mingus Union 57

They've been nail-biters for the Bradshaw Mountain boys, but no matter.

The Bears are now 2-0 in Division 2, Section 1 following an overtime victory at Kingman last Friday and Tuesday's three-point win over visiting Mingus Union.

Bradshaw defeated the Marauders after holding on late in the fourth quarter. In the final frame, the hosts had built a lead as large as nine points before Mingus began lighting it up from behind the arc with five 3-pointers.

Although Bradshaw's edge would eventually shrink to one, DJ Gonzales saved the day by going 8-for-10 from the free throw line in the fourth and finishing with a team-high 22 points.

Gilbert Ibarra added 14 points, while Kasen Lynch and Brandon Taylor aided in the winning effort with nine points and seven points, respectively.

Bradshaw Mountain (11-11 overall record, 6-7 in power-point games) will travel to Flagstaff for a section tilt against Coconino at 7 p.m. Friday.
