Bradshaw girls basketball team takes 26-game win streak into playoffs

Bradshaw Mtn. girls 51

Cottonwood Mingus Union 43

The Bradshaw Mountain girls notched their whopping 26th straight victory Friday, capping a phenomenal 2012-13 regular season with this eight-point victory over Mingus Union in Cottonwood.

The D-2 No. 2-ranked Bears end the campaign with a 26-1 overall record (17-0 power point games) and will most certainly enter next week's D-2, Section 2 Tournament in Phoenix as the No. 1 seed.

On Friday, Bradshaw fell behind 24-16 at halftime before rebounding with an offensively well-played second half in the paint.

However, the Bears also drained five timely 3-pointers, including three in the final 16 minutes.

Leading BMHS were Kylie Morris and Dacie Clark with 12 points apiece. Jessica Olivas netted 11 points on the strength of three treys. In the Bears 60-41 win over Washington on Thursday, Olivas also had a trio of 3s. Ashlie Dowdy chipped in with nine points.
