The Bradshaw Mountain softball team won two of five games at the Apollo Cool Nights Tournament this past week in Glendale.

In pool play, the Lady Bears lost their first game 8-5 to Desert Edge. Nicole Paterno went 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI, while Chandler Schauwecker was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

In game two, Phoenix Bourgade Catholic defeated the Bears 10-0.

Bradshaw bounced back to defeat Valley Union 6-2 in the third game. Junior Terra Stults got the win on the mound, with 8 strikeouts over 6 innings of work. She allowed 3 hits and walked one batter.

Senior Ashlee Doores led the offense, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

In the single-elimination tourney, Bradshaw edged host Apollo 4-3. Stults again was winning pitcher over 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and striking out one.

Sophomore Christina Fritts had the big stick, batting 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and RBIs apiece.

Bradshaw exited the tourney with an 8-0 loss to Shadow Mountain. Fritts and Karrah Stults collected a hit each in that game.

The Lady Bears take part in the Gracie Haught Memorial Tournament this weekend in Payson. The next home game is Tuesday versus Camp Verde.
