The Bradshaw Mountain swim team members took advantage of their final dual/tri meet of the season to swim events in which they don't normally compete, partly to measure their improvement, but also because some swimmers were missing for fall break. After a difficult morning practice, the Bears took on Valley Christian and Scottsdale Christian Mountain Valley Splash Tuesday afternoon. The final scores were: boys - Valley 135, Bradshaw 93, Scottsdale 56; girls - Valley 152, Bradshaw 98, Scottsdale 9.

Bradshaw's gents garnered three first place finishes. Jake Balsiger took first in the 200 individual medley and the100 backstroke, while Chris Dodson triumphed in the 500 freestyle.

The Bradshaw boys' 200 and the 400 free relay teams placed second.

Rian Mazza was third in both the 100 and 50 free.

Top Lady Bears were: Lizi Eversole, 1st, 200 free;

Kendra Smith, 2nd, 100 backstroke and 3rd, 100 fly;

Kelsey Oakman, 3rd, 200 IM; Sarah Duncanson, 3rd, 500 free; Hei-Tung Ching, 3rd, 100 breaststroke.

The Bradshaw girls were second in the 200 free relay and third in the 400 free and 200 medley relays.

The team next swims at the regional meet in Cottonwood Oct 24-25. Each swimmer will compete in two events in hopes of making the cut for the state meet, which will be at ASU the following weekend.
