The Bears' season-opening six-game winning streak has given way to a three-game losing skid after a rough Monday and Tuesday at the Mesquite Tournament in Gilbert.

Offensively, Bobby Simmons uncorked a two-run triple, Dallas Riggs had an RBI-triple, and Bryan Villagran had two hits, a stolen base and run scored in the team's 10-5 loss to Gilbert on Tuesday. Gilbert Ibarra started on the pitching mound.

The Tuesday setback followed a 5-0 loss to Basha and a 14-6 loss to Desert Vista in Monday's doubleheader.

The Bears managed just three hits against Basha, including doubles from Riggs and Bradley Denny. Denny also took the loss on the mound.

Against Desert Vista, Villagran swung a big bat with three hits, two runs, a double and a stolen base. Jeremy Moyer went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

The Bears (6-3) continue play at the tournament Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. first pitch against McClintock at Gilbert High School.
