The Bears suffered a slim loss Thursday night in Flagstaff a couple days before they battle Prescott for the annual Rival Cup.

The Panthers scored in the 30th minute when Bradshaw failed to mark up off a corner kick.

"It could've been anybody's game," BMHS head coach Philip Reid said. "We had our shots on goal, we had our chances. It just wasn't our day."

The Bears entered the match ranked No. 30 in Division 2, and dropped to 1-2 in Section 5 play and 3-5 overall. With only six games left in the season, Bradshaw may have to win out to hope to crack the 16-team state tournament, which opens Feb. 4.

Next up is the annual Rival Cup, which pits Bradshaw against its cross-town rival, Prescott. The match takes place Saturday (3 p.m.) at Ken Lindley Field, as the Bears look to retain the Cup after last year's victory.
