The 13th of July - although it fell on a Saturday, not Friday - was lucky for all participants at American Legion Gary Streeter Post 108's second annual horseshoe tournament.
At Prescott Valley's American Legion Park, 32 competitors from around the state vied for first, second and third place prizes of $100, $50 and $25.
The Post wishes to thanks supporters Pizza Hut, Ace Hardward, Denny's, Garcia's, KC Auto Repair, Bath Heaven.com, Blue Hills Café, Sally B's Café, Diane and Marvin Mackaben, Tony and Carol White and Back Burner Café for door prizes.
Proceeds go toward a scholarship fund for children of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who died battling the Yarnell Fire on June 30.
Thanks also to the Central Arizona Horseshoe Club for their ongoing support.
