It's a rare occurrence for a baseball player to hit for the cycle - managing a single, double, triple and homerun in the same game - but that's what Bradshaw Mountain senior Brody Clifford did in front of his home crowd Thursday. The Bears went on to rout Kingman 16-1.

Clifford nearly did the cycle backwards. He followed a triple with a two-run homer, then a double and the single. Along the way he drove in four runs.

Junior Dallas Riggs almost accomplished the feat the previous day in Prescott Valley, lacking only a triple, but swatting a walk-off homerun in the Bears' 4-2 win over Camp Verde. Thursday, Riggs contributed a 2-run homer and three RBIs among his 4 hits.

Starter Bradley Denny and reliever Kody Jones each struck out 5 over two innings on the mound.

The Bears downed the Cougars 5-2 in Chino Valley Monday, and traveled to Prescott yesterday, after the Tribune's press time.
