The Bradshaw Mountain boys' soccer team preserved its clean sheet Thursday night at Bill Shepard Field with a 2-0 win over Prescott.

The Bears struck first when sophomore midfielder Kenneth Castro ran down the right flank, cut in, and drew a foul on the Badger defense, which led to a penalty kick opportunity.

Junior co-captain Saul Martinez cashed in the kick to lift the Bears to a 1-0 lead.

Twenty minutes later, senior striker Diego Vasquez ran through the midfield and timed the bounce of the ball to play directly over the keeper's head for Bradshaw's second score of the night.

"It was a well-executed game," Bears head coach Philip Reid said. "I think it was a long overdue win. The players were ready from the start of the whistle. They kept their heads in the game for the full 80 minutes."

Both sides next take some time for the Christmas holiday.

The Bears return to the pitch Jan. 8 at Page, while the Badgers next play Jan. 3 at home against Kingman.
