Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation Department offerings

Adult Recreation Volleyball

Planning is underway for the Prescott Valley 2013 Men, Women, and Coed recreation volleyball leagues. The season consists of two eight-game back-to-back seasons. Games will be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Glassford Hill Middle School; however, will not be played when the school is closed for spring break, holidays and snow day closures.

Season #1 league starts Jan. 8, 2013.

• Registration and managers meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 7501 E. Civic Circle, Prescott Valley, Room 331.

• Registration fees: $150 per team at registration meeting; after Dec. 12, team fees are $170.

• Registration taken at PV Parks and Recreation office, first floor Civic Center. Deadline is noon, Dec. 20.

Season #2 league starts March 19, 2013.

• Registration and managers meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, Civic Center, Rm 331.

• Teams currently playing in season #1 can sign up at volleyball site.

• Registration fee: $150 per team at registration meeting; after Feb. 13, team fees are $170.

• Registrations taken at Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation office first floor Civic Center.Deadline is noon, Feb. 21.

Be A Better Basketball Player

The Town of Prescott Valley is offering "Be a Better Basketball Player" with instructor Roy Jenkins. Roy has coached high school basketball, run basketball camps and conducted basketball "Shooting Academies." This is a great opportunity to improve your game.

Ages: 7 - 15

Cost: $24; *20

Days/Times: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6:15 p.m. for 7-11 yr olds; 6:15-7:30 p.m. for 12-15 yr olds.

Location: BMHS, East Campus - Gymnasium.

Class size: Min: 6 Max: 30.

Session 4: Dec 5, 10, 12, 17, 19*

Registration deadline: 7 days prior to start.

YOGA (AM and PM)

Learn how to reduce your stress in this fun-filled yoga class. Yoga can help you lose weight, increase strength and flexibility, and relieve stress. It focuses on core strength, flexibility and centering. Please bring yoga mat, water and a towel. Registration 7 days prior to session start date.

AM Yoga

Ages: 18 and older

Cost: $42 or $6 per class.

Class size: Min: 4 Max: 10.

Location: Civic Center, Room 331.

Days/Times: Tuesday and Thursday; 9-10 a.m.

Session 4: Dec. 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 27

PM Yoga

Ages: 15 and older.

Cost: $30 or $6 per class

Class Size: Min: 4 Max: 15

Location: Civic Center, Community Room 331

Days/Times: Mondays; 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
