Bradshaw swimmers runners-up at home meet

The Bradshaw Mountain High swim team played host to Northland Prep and Mingus Union this past Tuesday at Prescott Valley's Mountain Valley Splash pool with some close results. Northland Prep won the boys' meet with 115 points, followed by Bradshaw 108, and Mingus 86. Mingus triumphed for the girls with 133, followed by Bradshaw, 87, and Northland Prep, 82.

Bradshaw's lone first place showing of the afternoon was courtesy of Nick McCarthy in the boys' 50-yard freestyle. Also delivering notable performances for Bradshaw were gents: Michael Gibbons, 2nd in 500 free; Mako Bennett, 2nd in both the 200 free and 100 backstroke; Cameron Blinston, 2nd, 100 fly and 3rd, 200 individual medley; and Sergio Gonzalez, 3rd, 500 free.

Outstanding girls' performances came from: Alexis Walker, 2nd, 100 butterfly; Mikaela Paul, 2nd, 100 free; Breanna Hembree, 3rd, 100 back; and Katy Millard, 3rd, 100 breaststroke.

The Bears hosted Scottsdale Christian yesterday after the Tribune's press time. They will compete at Mesa's Skyline Aquatic Center this Saturday.
