The Bradshaw Mountain swim team won a multi-meet for the first time in the program's history and qualified a pair of relays for state along the way, at the 5-team White Tanks Invitational this past Friday and Saturday.

"It was very exciting! That's the first invite we've won ever," Bradshaw coach Patti Eller said. "We beat Buckeye, which we've not done before."

The Bears and Lady Bears also recorded 41 personal best times and qualified the girls 200- and 400-freestyle relays for state.

Several Bradshaw swimmers previously qualified in designated meets.

The eight state qualifiers head for Mesa's Skyline Aquatic Center this Friday for Division II preliminaries.

Kirsten Van Horne will compete in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races. She joins Emily Stolz, Mikeala Paul and Rachel Campbell for the two relays.

Competing for the gents, are: Rio Balsiger, 100 free; Robert Folmer, 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke; Cameron Blinston, 200-individual medley and 500 free; and Alec Serna, 200 IM and 100 fly. All four comprise the teams for the 200-medley and 400-free relays.

The Skyline Aquatic Center is at 845 S. Crismon Rd., Mesa. Friday's prelims and Saturday's finals begin at 9:30 a.m.

Admission is $10/adult; $6/student with school ID; under 5 free.
