Obituary: Dorothy Ann Martin
Dorothy Ann Martin, 71, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at her home surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., to Victor and Julia Johnson. Dorothy lived in Michigan most of her life, working in education after graduating from Wayne State University. She later obtained a master's degree from the University of Michigan.
After retiring, she moved with her husband, Richard, to Arizona in 2006. Among her many activities were gardening, bird-watching, needlepoint, camping in the West and adoring her grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed many social activities at St. Germaine Parish in Prescott Valley and with the Catholic Daughters. She also participated in many activities within the Stoneridge community where she will be greatly missed by her many good friends.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Richard; children Jeffrey Martin and Laura Tobias; sister Lorraine Engelhardt; and grandchildren, Katelyn and Adam Tobias and Haruki Martin.
