Wanita Melluzzo

Wanita Melluzzo, 85, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family Dec. 10, 2012, in Cherry, Ariz. She was born in Topeka, Kan., on Oct. 3, 1927.

She married the love of her life, Frank, in 1945. After 67 years of marriage the love and friendship they shared was an inspiration to everyone they knew. To her husband she was a constant companion and confidant. Whether it was cooking over a campfire on a hunting trip, or hosting a party for 400 people, they were always together. We believe we were truly blessed with the most loving, devoted mother and best friend, who was always there for us. As happy as she was being a wife and mother, her greatest joy was being a grandmother.

She leaves wonderful memories for grandchildren, Suzanne, Stacy, Robbie, Lindsie, Lacey and Melissa. Her blessings were multiplied by her great grandchildren, Zachary, Alyson, Shelby, Drew, Jake, Chloe, Maigan, Robbie, Jack, Finley, Karly and Kyle. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank; her children, Wayne (Mary), Gloria (Logan) and Kay.

The family invites you to a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Sunrise Mortuary, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Ariz. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Drive, Prescott Valley, Ariz. Mass will be followed by a luncheon at the church hall. Interment will be at noon on Monday, Dec. 17, at St Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Pines, 13175 E. SR 169, Ste. B, Dewey, AZ 86327.

Sunrise Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements. Please visit www.sunrisefuneralhome.com to sign Wanita's guestbook.
