Special to the Tribune

The Kiwanis Club of Bradshaw Mountain honored two middle school students as February's Student of the Month. Teachers nominate students based on achievement and effort.

The student and nominating teacher attend a Kiwanis meeting to accept a certificate of achievement and a monetary award.

"The students selected are often those that have overcome challenges to become achievers," said Kathy McLaughlin, president of the Kiwanis Club of Bradshaw Mountain.

Student of the Month awards are just one of the ways the Kiwanis Club of Bradshaw Mountain supports local children. McLaughlin asks that the community participate in this year's annual fundraising auction. Call her at 928-713-9248 to donate to the auction or inquire about membership.

The Kiwanis Club of Bradshaw Mountain meets at 6:45 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month at Sally B's Restaurant in Prescott Valley with the Early Morning Lions Club. All are welcome to stop in.
