Alice (Biss) and Bennie Cooper, former Prescott Valley residents, are celebrating their 75th anniversary this summer. They were married July 30, 1938, in Milbank, S.D.
They farmed for more than 40 years in Grant County, Minn., and lived on the dairy farm they owned north of Wendell, Minn., for the majority of those years.
In the late 1970s, the Coopers retired to Prescott Valley, where they lived for more than 30 years as active charter members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. They are now residents of the Robinwood Village, a Lutheran-affiliated assisted living home, in Hagerstown, Md.
The Coopers had three children: David of Winchester, Va., retired from data processing with IBM and Lockheed-Martin; Michael, a Lutheran pastor and president of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Pa.; and daughter Bernice Anderson, deceased. The Coopers have seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
