P&Z mulls developer's plans to build 30 homes in Granville
Prescott Valley Tribune

The developer of the Granville subdivision is proposing to build 30 homes on nearly 6 acres north of Granville Parkway between Glassford Hill Road and Talbot Drive.

Universal Homes LLC of Phoenix is seeking to build the homes on land that Calvary Chapel Frontier bought for building a church in 2005. Calvary officials have decided not to develop the site, and Universal Homes seeks to buy it back and replat the original nine lots and an additional 21 new lots.

Universal has applied to the Community Development Department for a preliminary development plan to build the 30 lots.

The preliminary de-velopment plan proposal will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission Monday.

The commission initially recommended approval for a planned area development overlay district March 8, 1999, for the property along with a master development plan for approximately 3,400 single-family homes and apartment units on 1,242 acres. The Town Council approved the Granville rezoning and the master plan Jan. 13, 2000.

The commission serves as an advisory body to the council. Its meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the library auditorium, 7401 E. Civic Circle.

Also on the agenda are:

• A public hearing to consider amendments to an article on planned area developments in the town's zoning code.

• A public hearing to consider amendments to a chapter on subdivisions.

• A request of Franklin Phonetic School for a reversionary plat to combine seven lots and an additional parcel into a larger tract east of Aaron Lane between Copper Hill Road and Highway 69.

• A request from Joseph Carr for a reversionary plat to combine two lots at the northwest intersection of Superstition Drive and Superstition Court.

• Election of officers.
