UPDATE:Highway 69 is open again as of 6 p.m.



Southbound Highway 69 north of Mayer is closed after a three-vehicle fatality accident at about 1 p.m. this afternoon. Emergency personnel are rerouting southbound traffic at Highway 169. People can take 169 to I-17 and continue southbound.

Central Yavapai Fire spokesman Rick Chase said one person died and helicopters flew three other people with life threatening injuries to Phoenix hospitals.

We were 2 minutes behind when it occurred. Second hand info was that medical reasons caused a car to cross the center line. Best wishes and our prayers to all those involved. So very, very sorry.

Prayers to the family who have lost one of their own and Godspeed and Hope to those who have been hurt in this collision.
Hopefully we all will remember our speed when traveling down 69..too many people are dying out there on the road..Be Safe everyone and remember SPEED KILLS.
