Mayoral candidate pool grows
Prescott Valley Tribune

The candidate pool for mayor grew Wednesday when Kevin Moran picked up the packet from the Town Clerk's office. Moran joins a potential mayoral field that includes incumbent Harvey Skoog and challengers Louie Lizza and Lisa Imburgia.

The possible candidates for the three council seats include council appointees Don Tjiema and Michael Whiting, and would-be office-seekers Marty Grossman, Stephen Marshall and Matt Zurcher.

Tjiema, Whiting and Marshall plan to run for four-year seats, while Grossman and Zurcher plan to vie for a two-year seat. The council will have at least one new member next year because Patty Lasker announced she is not seeking re-election.

The contenders will not become official candidates until they submit at least 284 signatures by Dec. 12 from voters who live within the town. The primary election will take place March 12, and a runoff will occur May 21 if candidates for one or more seats do not obtain a majority of the votes during the primary.
