Prescott Country Club shed fire spreads, damages mobile home
Special to the Tribune

An elderly man escaped without injury Monday afternoon after his shed caught fire and spread to his mobile home in Prescott Country Club.

Central Yavapai Fire District Battalion Chief Brad Davis said the call to the home on Powderhorn Pass came at about 1:30 p.m. Four engines from CYFD and one engine from Prescott Fire responded to the fire, which is still under investigation, but may have started due to a malfunction in a washer or dryer in the shed before spreading to the home.

"It got into a portion of the house," Davis said, adding that the structure is a mobile home with an addition.

Red Cross responded to the scene, but Davis said he believed the occupant intended to stay the night with friends.

Life Line Ambulance personnel and Yavapai County Sheriff deputies also helped on the scene, Davis said. No monetary damage estimate was available at press time.

Also on Monday, CYFD responded to a single-vehicle accident on Highway 69 between Humboldt and Poland Junction.

One woman went to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus with undisclosed injuries.
