A man was injured around 11 a.m. Monday in a head-on collision between two cars at the intersection of highways 69 and 169 in Dewey, Central Yavapai Fire Marshal Rick Chase said.
Maciel Romero-Aleman of Cottonwood was driving a 2002 Dodge sedan south on Highway 69 when he made a left turn in front of Roger Rushton of Humboldt, who was driving a 1988 Ford Taurus sedan north on Highway 69, Prescott Valley Police Sgt. Brandon Bonney said.
Life Line Ambulance took Rushton, who was not wearing a seatbelt, to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East; he then to the west campus for treatment for his injuries, Bonney said.
Romero-Aleman, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured in the collision, Bonney said.
Both cars were heavily damaged in the collision and were towed from the scene.
A Prescott Valley police officer cited Romero-Aleman for being unlicensed and for failing to yield, Bonney said.
