Bubonic plague found in fleas near Flagstaff
Environmental Health officials from the Coconino County Public Health Department are warning people who visit recreational areas to avoid camping or picnicking in the immediate vicity of ground squirrels or prairie dog burrows because officials found Bubonic Plague in the animals.

Yavapai Fair time!
Dewey resident KC Brown is this year's junior small livestock superintendent and has participated in the Yavapai Fair since she was a little girl. Brown also has been a member of local 4-H clubs and appreciates the time and effort it takes to win a ribbon.

"I won't know how many entries we have until the fair begins," Brown said and noted that in recent years, there has been a decline in rabbit entries.
