Civic Center remodeling, intersection improvement on council agenda
Prescott Valley Tribune

The Town Council will discuss a construction contract award for Viewpoint and Long Look drives and the Civic Center remodeling projects at a work/study meeting Thursday.

The Public Works Department heard from 10 contractors after going out to bid for the first phase of a project to improve the intersection of Viewpoint and Long Look. The lowest responsive bidder was Earth Resources Corp. of Dewey-Humboldt for $589,809. The highest bid came at $1.1 million from RK Sanders Co.

The town plans to pay for the project with a one-third-cent sales tax. The 90-day project is due to start March 25.

The council also will listen to a presentation from Capital Projects Coordinator Kim Moon on the update for the Civic Center remodeling project. The town is paying for the project from development impact fees, and budgeted $940,000 this fiscal year.

The work/study meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and take place in the library auditorium, 7401 E. Civic Circle.
