Laura Stelmasek and Marzet Farris III, each charged with first-degree murder in the death of Craig Stelmasek, will be tried in different courtrooms before different judges.

While the case against Stelmasek, 45, was assigned to Division 5's Celé Hancock, Farris, 46, was granted the right to have his trial heard by a judge other than Hancock Monday morning.

The pair is accused of killing Stelmasek's husband, Craig, 57, at their home in Prescott Valley, wrapping his body in a blanket and then driving the van to the Albuquerque International Sunport, where they allegedly abandoned it on June 5.

U.S. Marshals arrested them at a home in Raleigh, N.C.

Police said the body was not discovered for several days.

Monday, Hancock denied a motion to have the two cases "track" together.
