PlacePrescott Valley Public Library
Address7401 E Civic Circle
DetailsThe Prescott Valley Public Library, partnering with The Peregrine Book Company, are pleased to announce J.A. Jance, New York Times Best Selling Author. Saturday, September 21st, 2013 at 1 PM in the Prescott Valley Public Library’s Auditorium. This is a free event. Reservations are not required. Books will be available for purchase through The Peregrine Book Company. Book signing to follow the presentation. This event will not cost anything as J.A. will be on tour for her new book: SECOND WATCH (William Morrow Hardcover On Sale: 9/10/201 ISBN 13: 9780062134677 $26.99) the twenty-first mystery featuring Seattle detective J. P. Beaumont . In SECOND WATCH Beaumont is finally getting around to having his knee replacement surgery, but he’s in for more than that. A series of dreams bring him back first to his early days on the force at Seattle PD and then, even earlier, to his days in Vietnam. Drug induced hallucinations? Maybe. But his haunting visitors from the past lead him into current complications where the dead bodies from the Second Watch won’t stay buried. In Second Watch you'll meet Lennie Davis serving as J.P. Beaumont's commanding officer in Vietnam. In the memorable afterword you will learn the heartbreaking story of the real Lennie Davis, a high school friend of J.A.’s back in Bisbee. SECOND WATCH is a mystery, but it is also a literary thank you note to all the people who served during that era--the ones who came back as well as the ones who didn't--and to their loved ones, too.
