Early matchup for Prescott, Bradshaw baseball today
Prescott Valley Tribune

A win for Bradshaw Mountain's baseball team and a loss for Prescott on Wednesday set the table for a matchup between the rivals Thursday as play in the Gilbert Mesquite Tournament continues.

And since the rivals are so close to each other, they've agreed to save each other another trip to Gilbert and will instead face off at Bradshaw's home field in Prescott Valley. First pitch is at noon.

The Badgers lost in Mesquite play Wednesday to Red Mountain by a 4-1 final. Prescott (4-7) has lost five of its past six games.

The Bears beat McClintock 9-2 Wednesday in Gilbert behind the pitching of Jeremy Moyer and hitting of Bradley Denny.

Moyer threw five scoreless innings of two-hit ball with five strikeouts before turning things over to the bullpen. Denny smacked a two-run home run and collected four RBIs.

Also swinging big bats for Bradshaw (7-3) were Bryan Villagran, who uncorked a three-run triple, Dallas Riggs (3-for-4, 3 doubles) and Steve Hernandez (2-for-3, run scored).

The win snapped the Bears' three-game losing skid.
