Yuma 6

Bradshaw 2

The Bears advanced to the quarterfinals Saturday night at the Cool Nites Tournament in Glendale but that's where the run ended with this loss against Yuma.

Bradshaw trailed just 2-0 in the seventh inning, but Yuma opened things up with a 4-spot. The Bears rallied with two outs when Tia Randa and Shelbi Audsley reached on singles, Brittany Flanigan followed with an RBI-single, and Haley Young answered with another RBI-single.

Single-elimination bracket play started Saturday with a 7-4 win over Agua Fria.

Madison Rubio was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits and striking out seven as Bradshaw busted out with three runs in the first inning.

Later, tied 3-3, Nichole Paterno reached on an error, Tina Fritts doubled her in, and Young's two-out single plated Fritts to re-claim the lead for Bradshaw at 5-3.

Fritts finished with two doubles and three RBIs. Lacie Denny went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Bradshaw Mountain (5-5 overall) is back home to host Casa Grande this Friday for a 3:45 p.m. first pitch.
