7/16/2013 8:48:00 AM Yavapai Silent Witness 'Catch 22' No. 17 Brian Smith arrested in Phoenix
Phoenix police arrested Brian Eugene Smith, 56, wanted on a warrant out of Prescott Valley. Smith was wanted on suspicion of felony shoplifting that involved using a device or a container to remove items. He later failed to appear for a court date. Smith was Number 17 on the Catch 22 program.
While the program, offered through Yavapai County Silent Witness, offers a $500 cash reward for the apprehension of high-profile felons, no reward will be issued in Smith's case, said Yavapai Silent Witness Program Director Steve Skurja.
"He wasn't apprehended because of a Catch 22 call. He had local warrants out of Prescott Valley for felony shoplifting. That's why he was advertised under Catch 22 and that's what he was arrested for down in Phoenix," Skurja said.
Four have been arrested as part of the current Catch 22, including No. 1 Sheena Miller, No. 13 Daniel Melendez, No. 16 Steve Wells and Smith.
A $500 reward is offered as part of Catch 22. To earn the reward, call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 with your anonymous information within 90 days of when the particular story appeared.
